Faheez Mohamed

Mr. Faheez Mohamed graduated from the University of Edinburgh and underwent surgical training in the North East of England. He was awarded a Doctor of Medicine in 2005 from the University of Newcastle based on research into intraperitoneal chemotherapy performed at the Washington Cancer Institute, USA under the supervision of Dr. Paul Sugarbaker. 

He was appointed Consultant Surgeon at the Peritoneal Malignancy Institute, Basingstoke in 2009 with an interest in Cytoreductive Surgery and Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) for the treatment of peritoneal malignancy. Mr. Mohamed is a specialist advisor to NICE for Peritoneal Malignancy and is the clinical lead for the UK Colorectal Peritoneal Metastases Clinical Database. 

He is actively involved in clinical and basic science research in the field of peritoneal malignancy and has served on the Research and Audit Committee of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland. He is Vice Chair of the EuroPMP international research consortium and Medical Advisor to Pseudomyxoma Survivor, a charity set up to support patients with pseudomyxoma peritonei.


He is on the Advisory Board of The Mavis Nye Foundation for helping support victims of asbestos related cancer such as mesothelioma and is a member of the Clinical Expert Panel for MesoUK. He is a Trustee of the Pelican Cancer Foundation. He continues to teach and lecture nationally and internationally on colorectal cancer, pseudomyxoma peritonei, peritoneal mesothelioma and intraperitoneal chemotherapy.

Mr. Mohamed was Clinical Director of the Department of General Surgery and Urology at Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust from 2017 to 2021. His clinical interests include colonoscopy, laparoscopic surgery and treatment of advanced colorectal and other peritoneal cancers with Cytoreductive Surgery and HIPEC.
