Dr. Wayne Lam is a specialist in Urology and Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at The University of Hong Kong (HKU). He obtained his MBBS degree from King’s College London and completed urologic and sub-specialist training in the United Kingdom. His expertise was further refined through a prestigious one-year Fellowship in complex reconstructive urology under the supervision of Professor Nick Watkin at St. George’s University Hospital, alongside earning a postgraduate degree in Urology with distinction from the University College London.
Before relocating to Hong Kong, Dr. Lam served as a Consultant Urologist at the prestigious Urology Unit at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals in London. In 2017, he joined the Department of Surgery at HKU as Clinical Assistant Professor before transitioning to private practice, while maintaining a part-time clinical role within the Hong Kong Hospital Authority.
Dr. Lam’s subspecialty expertise encompasses complex genito-urethral reconstructive surgery, precise diagnostics and treatment for prostate cancer, organ preserving surgical treatment for penile cancer, surgical treatment for erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence, holistic surgical approaches for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and robotic surgery.
An accomplished academic and surgeon, Dr. Lam has published extensively in leading urology journals and is a frequent invited speaker at international conferences. Notably, he has demonstrated live urethral reconstructive surgeries at global meetings.
