Professor Yiu Che Chan is Associate Professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery at The University of Hong Kong and Director of Surgical Admissions at Queen Mary Hospital. He is also Council Member for the Asian Society of Vascular Surgery Venous Forum.
Professor Chan graduated from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School, University of London, and completed his vascular and general surgical training at renowned vascular centres in London. Since returning to Hong Kong in 2007, he has established himself as a vascular surgeon specialising in both open and minimally invasive endovascular surgery for aortic, peripheral arterial, and veins.
Professor Chan maintains an active research program focused on endovascular surgery, supported by multiple international and local research grants. His scholarly output includes over 160 peer-reviewed publications and numerous book chapters. He actively participates in undergraduate and postgraduate education, running multiple endovascular workshops while serving as faculty member and expert proctor for new peripheral arterial and venous devices. He has also delivered over 300 presentations at international vascular conferences. He contributes to surgical education as an examiner and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE) Supervisor for the MHKICBSC Part 3 and the examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh/College of Surgeons Hong Kong Joint Specialty Fellowship Examination.
