Professor Kenneth Chok received his MBBS from The University of Hong Kong. He became an Associate Consultant in 2008 and a Consultant in 2011 at Queen Mary Hospital. Professor Chok joined The University of Hong Kong as a Clinical Associate Professor in 2015 and received his first doctoral degree (Master of Surgery) from The University of Hong Kong in the same year and became a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) in 2016 after having received the Carlos Pellegrini Traveling Fellowship award of the ACS. He was conferred a second doctoral degree (Doctor of Medicine) from the same University in 2020. He joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2024, the Department of Surgery as a Full Professor. He is now Clinical Professor, team head of HBP surgery in Prince of Wales Hospital, and cluster team head of HBP surgery in NTEC.
Professor Chok has published more than 300 articles in leading peer-reviewed journals on liver surgery, hepatocellular carcinoma, and living donor liver transplantation, including the Journal of Hepatology, Hepatology, Liver Transplantation, and Annals of Surgery. He actively promotes public health and organ donation in Hong Kong. He has organized various initiatives, as he is the vice-president of the Hong Kong Society of HPB Surgery, and a council member of the Hong Kong Society of Transplantation, the Hong Kong Liver Foundation, and the Hong Kong Society of Gastroenterology. He is the Co-Principal Investigator for TRS grant and RAISe+ scheme, with more than 10 million HKD in funding.
